Calculate your bids for office work based on your specific production rates. Our production rates based on actual time required to clean several commercial accounts is 2500 square feet per/man per/hour. So in the case of a 5000 square foot office it should take 2 cleaners approximately 1 hour to clean. Add in approximately 1/2 hour travel time, 2% to cover cleaning products and equipment, and you should be good to go. A one time clean on a residential property, depending on the level of detail, should run approximately 3 times what a maintenance clean would cost for that same house. If you do an initial deep clean on a property, that deep clean usually runs approximately $300.00 to $400.00 dollars on a 2500 to 3000 square foot house. A maintenance clean, following the initial detailed deep clean on that same property. should run approximately $125.00 to $150.00 bi-weekly or $100.00 for a weekly maintenance.

I have had excellent experience working with my children (2) and various nieces and nephews (5) through out the years. Did have a couple of problems working with a sister in law (nothing huge just personality) I cannot imagine working with my husband- that would be a completely different story I'm afraid

Advertising in a Bad Economy -Should You Cut Back? « Result #22 on Nov 4, 2008, 10:26pm »
Advertising in a Bad Economy -Should You Cut Back?
When the economy slows down, cleaning services are always one of the first to get cut off people’s budgets. This creates a domino effect and cleaning companies also cut back on their expenses too, many cleaning company owners make the mistake of going right to their advertising budgets to look for places to cut back and that is a huge mistake. It makes the negative effects of a bad economy so much worse. It's the time to increase your advertising, not decrease it. When things get tight, cut back in other ways, look for better routes to save gas, reschedule clients so that you can cut back on mileage, fuel and repairs. Buy cleaning supplies in bulk and look for alternatives. Repair cleaning equipment instead of buying new, etc. Customers are still out there looking for cleaning services, no question about that. If your business is not in front of them and fast, you will lose out, good economy or bad.
Look for less expensive and more effective types of advertising. The CSD is one of the least expensive directories online, and you will not pay for every lead you receive. Craigslist is also a wonderful resource and it's free (so far). Keep yourself out there, once you pull back, you will obviously get a decrease in new client sign ups. It's just that simple. Think before you make cuts!
The CSD charges only $9.95 month for a Premier Membership with unlimited leads. The Basic members also get unlimited leads, but much less attention to their ads, so the savings of $5 a month is still not worth it. Most of the members that cancel their ads on the CSD are basic members because they have not gotten enough attention to their advertising efforts. You have to be at or very near the top of the list to get that exposure you need. Many people looking for a cleaning service will go from the top to the bottom of the list. The higher you are, the more leads you will get.
If you advertise for a year and you get only 1 lead that turns into a weekly or biweekly account, it will way more than pay for itself!
What is the best way to get a lot of exposure? First, don't ever put all your eggs in one basket, but don't spreads your advertising around too much either. It is best to pick a handful of places to advertise and go for better places listings. Anytime you can get your company to the top of a list without a huge expense, the investment should be seriosly considered. If you have ads on 10, 20 30 or more directories and other media, and you are at the bottom of each one of them, they won't do you much good. Best to be at the top of 5 or 6.
Bottom line - During a bad economy, get more aggressive in advertising and find other ways to cut back that wont sacrifice the quality of your services.
